I pitched this to Rachelle Gardner's contest today... [she's a literary agent] ... crossing fingers and toes and all the kudzu in my yard..
In the fall of 1973 in north Alabama, nine year old Addie Campbell, vexed with ancient memories and guided only by starlight and stones, unearths long buried secrets along the banks of the Tennessee River.
... I'm stoked. And I've got so much more.. love this process.

Like your pitch, as well. LOVE novels about the south, even though I grew up in Michigan. (I've lived in the south for 23 years.)
Thanks!
Valerie
I love that! But then I love anything set in the South, so I heard the words 'north Alabama' and swooned a little :)
It's intriguing for sure.
1973 was a good year :)
I always judge whether or not I want to read a book by the first paragraph, and you had me at hello! Good good luck. I cannot wait to read your story!!!!!
Hello, Shelby. I read all the pitches, and I thought your's was the best so far. It made me click on your name and click on your blog. In my lowly opinion, of course. It sounded like something I might read. My family is in south Tennessee. Also, consider attending the SCBWI conference in Nashville this September.
