Young woman's employer and long time mentor "comes clean" and enters a guilty plea this week.
Here's his plea. Not exactly "lite" reading.
Can't wait for the cross examine.

Glory Be
I have just been inspired by some images I happened upon over at r8chel.wordpress. You'll see why when you go there too.
Ah - sweet mystery of life and creation.

When gods collide
Remember young woman in a pile of legal financial trouble? She's fighting - and I love it. Latest move is to ask one of the judges to delay her criminal case until another judge makes a yes or no decision of whether the government can take her insurance money (to pay her legal fees).
What's happening is this. The government sued her, charged her, arrested her, everything else'd her, took her money, took her property, took her mail, tried to take her panties drawer, and threatened her husband that they'd take the flowers out of her inherited grandmother's house's yard.
That's all documented in press articles and court filings.
She should have insurance coverage that would pay her legal fees - but the government took that too. They completely have stripped her of everything, before she's been found innocent or guilty by any Court in the land.
One of the judges is sitting on the decision to allow her some money that is due her to pay for her own legal defense.
Is he stonewalling? I don't know. I know she doesn't have the insurance money and I know what's happened already up to this point.
Her lawyer is asking the criminal judge to Order a delay in the criminal case until the other judge makes a decision to allow her money so she can pay her own defense.
The court appointed receiver who is the taker of all things from young woman has made more than a few enemies, in and out of the Court.
Too many gods vying for the universe.

Tea for Two
One of the loveliest things I came across this morning is this playlist at this blog (In the Garden with Miss Jean). The last tune on the playlist is Tea for Two.
I'm all smiles now..

Podcast - Writer's Roundtable
This was a gold mine that I found. The link goes to a bunch of audio interviews with authors and such ...
I've started to write my book.
I'm in the throes of ideas.

The Creator is an Amazing Artist
From the Spokesman Review this morning, I came upon this piece by Paul Myers. He writes of his Grandpa Chuck. I truly enjoyed reading this. I invite you too to read it in its entirety.
Here's a snippet:
My grandpa was digging for things precious and tucked in the seams and crevices of the human heart. His digging was as an act of faith and love, one of divine worship.
. . . he’d say, “The Creator is an amazing artist, indeed. Lordy, would you just look at that.” And then he’d pass the rock to me.
You may know I'm compiling a list of 1,000 posts to read before you die. They're not my posts - they're yours (well, a small number of them are mine) - and I'm picky. You can read them all here. I don't quite have a thousand yet, but they're definitely adding up, so get some coffee, relax, and of course - read them. The above is the most recent.

Ken Burns - Top Ten List
He remains on my top ten list of all things. And he'll be on Letterman (or was he already?). Letterman is not on my top ten list of all things, albeit he is funny at times and I have been known to watch his show.
(An aside - the recent stunt of Letterman's with the hollywood former music celebrity sitting on a desk in not much - did nothing for me or him in getting anything related to his show on my top ten list of anything.)
This time, Mr. Burns floats my boat because of his project soon to air on the National Parks.
The parks also remain on my top ten list of all things.

The Person You Actually Are
Read this.
It's an article posted at Irish Times dot com in Dublin (yes, Ireland) .. and the article orginated from Talking Books , a free newsletter by Dermot Bolger published as part of DĂșn Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Place Identity Per Cert for Art programme.
It's about novel writing.
The moment you begin to write – be it fiction or journalism, song lyrics or simply a diary – you are making a declaration of independence, determining to think for yourself, to leave a record of the person you actually are as against the person that other people would like you to be.

It's Trash Day
Wednesday is trash day at my house. The trash guys come early. I awake to the sound of the trucks and the brakes squealing and the men hollering.

Been reading Sullivan's Island, by Dorothea Benton Frank (similar to a Pat Conroy read).. it's set in the South Carolina lowlands and Charleston. It's a good book. I actually bought another extra copy of it yesterday at the junk store. Think I'll send it to my sister.
Miss my sister a lot.. she's in Texas. She's having a hard time. Let's just say her husband will never win an award in the husband department, or any department really, unless it's for "worst" something.
Why we do the things we do. Some things I just don't get.
I obsess about starting over (voluntarily) with a job and career and education at my age -mid forties.. and here my sister is, a tad older than me.. and she's being forced into a new life.
She's so sad.
I miss her.

Dinosaur Bones Among the Thousands
When I was growing up, my mother used to say, "don't talk about religion or politics at the dinner table."
This was especially important whilst at the dinner table of some relatives - because, of course, they had differing opinions from "us" (the "us being me, the child of six, and my parents) on religion and politics.
I'm not at the dinner table now - and, this morning is a different time.
So, I propose a toast to the morning of the present and the coffee of the moment.. here's to religion, politics and science.
They can co-exist, and do.
Curmudgeon, over at Second Effort, started me thinking along these lines. Here's a link to his recent post - Religion vs Science?, Not Necessarily...
" . . . dinosaur bones are not put in the ground to test or undermine your faith; they provide an opportunity for your faith to grow beyond what our remote ancestors in the Middle East were capable of understanding."- - -

Mornings - another of a thousand at least
My mornings are routine again. Husband wakes early, is fairly quiet, leaves for work, tells me he'll call to wake me in about an hour.
I lie half awake basking in the "don't have to get up yet" moments. Doze some more - or not.
Get out of bed. House is so quiet. Kids upstairs aren't even in the realm of stirring for hours (school hasn't started yet).
Walk slowly toward the kitchen, pour coffee .. add cream and sugar (substitute). Smell the aroma, warm my hands with the hot cup.
Turn the computer on. Read the news, catch up on blogs, try and think of something interesting to post. Often can't come up with anything. Leave it alone. Leave a few comments elsewhere.
Dream of my past vacation, the one I just had - when can I have another .. Where will I go next?
I found this post this morning. It made me smile. It's a funny happenstance that happened to Remiman over at Under the Microscope.
I have to go to work now.

No Expiration Date - The Land of the Sea
The land of the sea will forever remain in my soul. I'm here. Here, for now, is the Atlantic coast. The South Carolina coast islands.
Spectacular.
