An Appointment with a Boat

My day started with making banana pudding. The kind you cook. And then you bake the meringue.

This is one of my "go to" recipes. I get a kick out of making it - and serving it.

But why did I make it? Because we had an outing planned at the lake. An appointment with a boat and some water and lots of friends and family.

I hadn't been in a boat since before my son was born (and he's 19).. my daughter had never been in a boat.. about 2 minutes into the ride, she asked to go boat shopping, and, oh by the way, 'can we get a lake house?'

Sure (right after I buy my beach house).

Awwwwwww life on the lake.

If you get a lake house, Bone is coming to visit.

You don't even have to invite me. I'll just show up :)

Mmmm, homemade banana pudding! Hardly anyone makes the good stuff anymore.

OMG, my FIL makes that kind of pudding! It is like heaven!!! I ♥ it.

I think a lake house sounds like a beautiful idea!!

There is something spectacular about being on the water, out on a lake in a boat. I am going to spend the night at a friend's house this week. Their house is on a lake, and they have a boat. It is a joy to hang out with them and share the wonder of the world God created for us to enjoy.

Thanks for sharing this story and those great photos.

Oooo, now I want banana pudding but it's way too late to make it...maybe tomorrow. : )
Food for thought: My FIL once told us, "The two happiest days in a boat owner's life are, the day he buys his boat...and, the day he sells it." Guess the maintenance is out-of-control???
Thanks for stopping by Sunday. : )

That recipe looks delicious! I may have to try it!

Looks like a beautiful day for boating and swimming. We live about .5 miles from a lake and have yet to get a boat. One day....

Our kids loved having a boat -- even though we truly couldn't afford it. We sure made lots of memories. Other family members would go camping with us and that boat would be out on the snake river (behind Ice Harbor Dam) all day long.

One summer we did a 5 day house boat trip on Shasta Lake in northern California. It was a hoot.
